3D Printed Mini Adjustable V Shaped Spreading Board

Mini Adjustable V shaped spreading board for mounting winged insects. The mini board was created as a teaching device for a butterfly spreading class. Could also be an inexpensive option for someone new to insect pinning when combined with our spreading kits. This spreading board is shaped so that the insect will appear in flight. The bolt can be loosened to allow the two sides to slide and tightened to snuggly hold the insect in place. The top is covered in 6mm of EVA foam or 3mm balsawood (+$2). Picture shows older option of 3mm foam that is no longer available. Base is lined with 6mm EVA for pinning the body into place. Each side is 2.75" wide by 4" long and will accommodate most Lepidoptera. Add a butterfly spreading kit to your purchase for $25. Kit includes stainless steel offset spade-tipped forceps, 8 pieces of paper for pinning down the wings, 100 size 2 pins in a resealable storage tube, a syringe with a regular and small sized interchangeable needle, and 3 practice butterflies. Practice butterfly species will vary but will be craft grade. No refunds for broken antennae or damaged wings as that is typical for craft grade and these are only intended for butterfly pinning practice.
